Title:
Topics on the Signal Processing in Coast Acoustic Tomography

Abstract:
Currently, time-delay based method are still mainly applied for flow velocity estimation and flow field inversion in coastal acoustic tomography (CAT). Unlike ocean acoustic tomography (OAT), CAT is typically shallow water underwater acoustics problems. Under these conditions, the sound propagation problems are more complex. Therefore, how to accurately estimate the sound propagation time delay is a very important issue. In this presentation, some topics on the signal processing methods for estimating time delays are presented. In addition, a brief introduction to our current research on river acoustic tomography is given.

Short Bio:
Qi Zhang received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering, the M.S.
degree in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology, the Ph.D.
degree in underwater acoustics engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China, in 2010, 2013, and 2018, respectively. Since July 2018, he has been with the School of Marine Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China. His research interests include marine atmospheric duct, oceanic microwave propagation, and acoustic tomography. Currently, Dr.
Zhang are mainly working on the application of coast acoustic tomography in hydrology.
