Αγαπητές φοιτήτριες, αγαπητοί φοιτητές,
Θα ήθελα να σας προσκαλέσω να παρακολουθήσετε το διεθνές training «Bringing Artificial Intelligence to Terminology: A Step-by-Step Project Approach», το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 2–3 Ιουνίου 2026, με δυνατότητα συμμετοχής τόσο διά ζώσης όσο και εξ αποστάσεως, στο πλαίσιο του TOTh 2026 (Terminology & Ontology: Theories and Applications).
Το training επικεντρώνεται στη χρήση της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης, των LLMs, της Επεξεργασίας Φυσικής Γλώσσας, των Οντολογιών και των Γράφων Γνώσης στην Ορολογία και στις Ψηφιακές Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες, μέσα από πρακτικά παραδείγματα και ασκήσεις.
Παράλληλα, σας προσκαλώ να παρακολουθήσετε και το διεθνές συνέδριο TOTh 2026, το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 4–5 Ιουνίου 2026 στο Πανεπιστήμιο Savoie Mont Blanc στη Γαλλία, με δυνατότητα και διαδικτυακής συμμετοχής. Η φετινή επετειακή διοργάνωση εστιάζει σε θέματα ορολογίας, οντολογιών, σημασιολογικού ιστού, knowledge graphs και εφαρμογών της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης.
Η παρακολούθηση είναι δωρεάν για τα μέλη του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης. Απαιτείται εγγραφή.

I would like to invite you to attend the international training course “Bringing Artificial Intelligence to Terminology: A Step-by-Step Project Approach”, which will take place on 2–3 June 2026, both onsite and online, as part of TOTh 2026 (Terminology & Ontology: Theories and Applications).
The training focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence, LLMs, Natural Language Processing, Ontologies, and Knowledge Graphs in Terminology and the Digital Humanities through practical examples and hands-on practice.
You are also warmly invited to attend the international conference TOTh 2026, which will take place on 4–5 June 2026 at Université Savoie Mont Blanc in France, with the possibility of online participation. This anniversary edition focuses on terminology, ontologies, the Semantic Web, knowledge graphs, and applications of Artificial Intelligence.
Participation is free of charge for members of the University of Crete. Registration is required.

I think back to when I was 19-years-old and in college, at Berkeley. They gave us a passage of Thucydides, the hardest writer of all to read in ancient Greek. I had this one paragraph I must have spent ten hours trying to translate…That had an incredible impact on me. It developed character, patience, and discipline that helps me even to this day. What if I had ChatGPT, and I put the passage in there, and it gave me the translation right away? The whole thinking process would have been annihilated right there.
